Overview:
The Global Partnerships Team owns the national partnership strategy and B2B acquisitions channel for key subscription-driving partnerships.
This team is responsible for growing subscriptions for 200+ local Gannett markets, USA TODAY, USA TODAY Crossword, and USA TODAY Sports via third party partnerships.
They identify impactful partnership opportunities, negotiate win-win deals, develop go-to-market strategies and manage partnerships on an ongoing basis.
We're looking for an exceptional, results-oriented individual who brings strong partnerships experience and a desire to work within a high-growth business unit.
Job Purpose:
The Director, Subscription Partnerships will support the Senior Director, Subscription Partnerships in identifying and implementing impactful subscription-driving partnerships and will work cross-functionally within Gannett to execute on these partnerships.
This role can work remote from anywhere is the US except for Alaska & Hawaii.
Responsibilities:
- Strategically approach landscape and prioritize highest impact opportunities.
- Identify and pitch new partnership opportunities.
- Model & forecast partnership impact, working with Sr. Director, Data Intelligence and Finance.
- Own and manage entire deal flow from negotiation to contract execution.
- Working with the Subscription Partnerships Manager, create new workflows, improve existing business operations, ensure seamless execution of new initiatives, and execute plans needed to drive rapid growth.
- Collaborate with the Partner Marketing Manager to set partnership vision and ensure long term success of partnerships, identifying and tracking key performance indicators to drive progress.
- Communicate the vision and status of strategic partnership initiatives to senior executives and coworkers at all levels of the organization.
- Keep abreast of technology/media industry trends and market conditions.
- Reports to the Sr. Director Subscription Partnerships and Business Development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-8 years’ experience in a digital partnerships or business development role at a publisher, agency, media company, etc.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive, self-starter with the ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Brings proven track record of successful cross-functional partnerships.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel monthly to build and maintain partnerships.
- Strong ability to see bigger picture while operating in the details, to solve problems and to manage multiple projects.
