Job Title: School Age Childcare Site Lead 

Location: General Wayne Elementary School, Great Valley School District

Pay Class: Full Time/Non-Exempt

Shifts/Availability: Monday-Friday/Day

Rate: $19.00-$21.00

 

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all. 

 

Position Purpose: The Position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The Lead Teacher creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes all children and families while promoting and maintaining a strong educational program in accordance with the YMCA and licensing and quality requirements.  

 
 Responsibilities: 

 

  • Plan and implement an educational program that meets the emotional, physical, intellectual, and social needs of their children in their program.
  • Interact with the children to encourage their individual development.
  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans and program goals.
  • Maintains necessary program records.
  • Establish relationships and maintain positive communication with all parents.
  • Use age appropriate, positive guidance. 
  • Maintains a safe environment at all times and provides supervision per YMCA and Regulatory compliance standards.
  • Act in compliance with DHS regulations and ensure other staff does as well.
  • Conduct parent conferences regularly.
  • Implements collaborative and co-teaching instructional strategies with other teachers.
  • Mentor and supervise Assistant Teachers as needed.
  • Adheres to all program and district professional expectations and compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field OR  
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field and one year experience with children OR 
  • Associates degree with a minimum of 3 years Childcare experience  
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs 
  • Must keep an up-to-date DHS file with a current physical 
  • At least 18 years of age or older
