Education: High School diploma required along with College degree in related field or equivalent in experience. Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with staff. SHRM-CP a plus!
Training and Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience as a Human Resource Manager. Good overall knowledge of all facets of the HR function, preferable hospitality experience.
Job Knowledge: Background in onboarding, employee relations and recognition, HR reporting, recruitment and benefits.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist the VP Human Resources in the overall operation of the HR function to include support for the HR Coordinator and Benefits Specialist. Develop and maintain a high functioning recognition program. Supply on-going reporting of key data to GM’s and Department Heads.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Must be able to use a computer. Must be able to sit for extended hours at a time. Must be able to communicate effectively over the phone.
Job Duties and Functions
- Must arrive to work on time, consistently.
- Upon entering the property, arrive in proper uniform, crisp, clean and in good repair.
- Hair must be clean and cut in a becoming style; management has final approval.
- Attend all required training, safety courses; attend office and departmental meetings.
- Report any safety hazards, follow up that hazard has been corrected, and assist with providing a safe work environment.
- Runs, distributes, and provides follow-up as needed on all HR Reporting.
- Fair-Credit Reporting Act Letter – sent as required.
- Tracks employment authorization status and updates as necessary.
- Coordinates and assists in developing all employee recognition programming monthly and annually
- Track and coordinates Years of Service Program.
- Assists in supporting both the Benefits Specialist and the HR Coordinator.
- Updates/enters into system driver’s license information for all employees who operate company vehicles.
- Provides guidelines, information, assistance and support to managers regarding company policies/procedures and company benefits. Facilitates in any way needed to ensure that systems related requirements are met for all employee personnel actions.
- Assists employees in any way possible, including interpreting employee handbook, policies, and procedures.
- Appropriately handles any phone inquiries (internal and external) specifically verification of employments according to company policy.
- Oversees annual and monthly evaluation process.
- Acts as manager on duty in absence of the Employment Director.
- Supports Employment Director as required.
