The Attractions Shift Manager will be required to work predominantly nights with weekends and holiday mandatory along with all major peak periods. Attractions Shift Manager will be required to work when Attractions Manager and/or Assistant Attractions Manager is not present. Must also be available to cover additional shifts when necessary. Quarterly if not occasionally be available work overnight when amenities are close to preventative maintenance and/or when problems arise.

This is a full-time position with day, night and weekend availability.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: this list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. 

 

  • Manages operations of all attractions including but not limited to, Laser Tag, Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course, Indoor and Outdoor Mini-Golf, Indoor and Outdoor Go-Karts, Zip-Line, Arcades, Clip N Climb Challenge Walls, Take Flight, and Timberland.
  • Responsible for training of all the staff in all Attractions and ensure safety policies are followed at all times. 
  • Delegates and directs work to staff, addresses guest complaints, and resolves issues.
  • Inspects all Attractions on a daily basis to monitor safety and repairing of any equipment.
  • Coordinates all breaks at all Attractions with Attractions Supervisor on Duty and ensures all minor break policies are being followed.
  • Inspection forms, daily opening and closing checklists, preventative maintenance forms, and scheduled maintenance checklists are archived. Works with Maintenace to ensure that all items listed on the checklist are completed in a timely manner and reports the issues to Attractions Manager as well.
  • Issues appropriate warnings in accordance with the progressive disciplinary policy and Attractions Policy and Procedure Manual.
  • Ensures all amenities are staffed and ready to operate per the Amenity Hours.
  • Labor cuts and/or closing amenities reviewed with either Attractions Manager and/or Director of Attractions and/or Resort Management based on weather, occupancy, and guest flow.
  • When Attractions Manager and/or Assistant Attractions Manager is absent, manages the day-to-day operations of all Attractions including but not limited to, Laser Tag, Northern Lights Sky Ropes Course, Outdoor Mini-Golf, Outdoor Go-Karts, Zip-Line, Wilderwoods Go Karts, Wild Abyss Mini Golf, Timberland, Clip N Climb Challenge Walls, Take Flight, and all Arcades.

Wild Abyss Mini-Golf - Training of supervisors and assist and monitor tank upkeep/maintenance, general cleanliness in and around all mini-golf areas (front and back of house). Be trained and well versed in marine life details along with willing to master the critical management of their environment (tanks and water quality). Maintains supplied and fish food by notifying Shipping and Receiving when they need to be ordered.

 

Northern Lights Sky Ropes – Ensure staffing is set for peak and slow times. Will ensure emergency take downs are done on a daily basis and assist if necessary. Will complete a monthly inspection of the course and report any safety concerns to Attractions Manager.

 

Laser Tag - Inspects the cleanliness of Laser Tag arena, Vesting Rooms including the common areas surrounding the arena.  Ensure that all vests are in working order. Be able to troubleshoot Laser Vests and be able to identify the problem and be able to repair and maintains a log for each vest.  During peak periods, must periodically be present at the laser tag and assist staff.  Reports any damage to the arena to Attractions Manager.

 

Go-Karts (Indoor and Outdoor) - Inspects all tracks, cars and equipment on a monthly basis (staff inspects daily per shift). Troubleshoots repairs and ensures all cars are running daily. Enforces uniform policy and cuts staff based on peak and slow times. 

 

Outdoor Mini-Golf - Ensure staff is set and amenity is enjoyable. Works with maintenance to ensure upkeep of the course is kept. Ensures staff has all supplies needed.

 

Zip-Line - Coordinates with Attractions Manager for staffing levels. Monitors weather, reservations, rotations, and tour times. Maintains supplies, does monthly inventory or retail and re-orders when items are in need of ordering. Above all ensures the safety of staff and guests daily.

 

Timberland - Ensure staffing is set for peak and slow times.  Works with maintenance to ensure repairs are made in a timely manner. Ensures that the feature is clean, and employees are continuously cleaning the feature on a daily basis. Works with staff on proper training of Bio-Hazard policy and ensures that when a Bio-Hazard arises in the feature that proper protocol is followed.

 

Clip and Climb Challenge Walls- Ability to inspect harnesses, walls, belay systems, and foundations of walls. Monitor cleanliness of Challenge wall area. Ability to assist in daily operations when business persists.

 

Arcades - Ensures that Northern Lights, Extreme, and Wilderwoods Arcade are all staffed each and coordinates breaks with Arcade Technician and Attractions Supervisor. Ensures cleanliness of the Arcades are maintained during the shift and cleaned at the end of each night. Ensures all cranes are stocked during the shift and all redemption desks are organized and stocked. 

 

Must be available by radio and/or cell phone at all times.

 

All other duties as assigned by management.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Manages one - four subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 60-150 employees in the Attractions Department.  Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.  Also directly supervises 40-140 non-supervisory employees.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
