Maintenance Technician Comac 3rd Shift

TITLE: Maintenance Technician                               

PLANT: Machining

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance                                   

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Shift Manager/Supervisor

FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-exempt                        

PAY GRADE: 16 - 18 ($22-$30)



Maintain and repair production equipment while supporting all departments to provide quality machined parts

for customers. Safely perform all tasks required to meet safety and production goals while maintaining a 7-S    system, participating in continuous improvement, preventative maintenance, and supporting team members.

  • Maintains and assigns production machine uptime.
  • Performs continuous improvements in department.
  • Responsible for OEE variables.
  • Completes PM’s per maintenance department specs.
  • Informs Maintenance Technician Lead or Shift Managers of down machines.
  • Replaces all shop tools and supplies after use.
  • Signs out all parts removed from tool crib.
  • Fill out parts request for any parts needed.
  • Complete daily checks (if not completed by previous shift, next shift is responsible).
  • Perform torque and leak tester verification procedures.
  • Fills MP2 for all work done.
  • Communicates with shift Maintenance Technician Lead on work priorities and end of shift follow-up.
  • Communicates with incoming/outgoing maintenance technicians on problems/issues encountered during working shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management. 
  • Able to work weekends and overtime as required.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance, in accordance with scheduled work hours, and overtime (OT) as assigned.
  • Meets all physical and environmental requirements.
  • Follows all prescribed safety regulations including the proper use of all required personal protective equipment.
  • Follows all Environmental Policy and Quality Policy guidelines.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition according to established Gibbs 7-S Guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management. 




To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education, knowledge, skills and abilities:

Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school

Certifications:  Electrical training, Lockout/Tagout, Fork Truck, Aerial Lift, Arc Flash, Programmable Logic Control.

Experience: Six months or more related experience.

Communication: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.

Other: Ability to lift 100 pounds; able to work on platform lifts up to 30 feet; follow all safety procedures for work above 6 feet off the ground. Must be willing and able to complete all required classes assigned through the training matrix.
