As a Data Analytics Supervisor, you will help facilitate the growth of the Data Analytics group within Central Insurance. You will have the ability to create solutions from sprawling data sets and the business acumen to convert findings into strategic opportunities. The Data Analytics Supervisor will be counted upon to support our data analytics manager to develop data driven solutions to the business stake holders in underwriting. This individual will be expected to use statistical techniques to solve real world problems, interpret key findings and ensure that data accuracy and consistent reporting are achieved by implementing optimal process for analytics employees to follow.

How You’ll make an Impact

• Build, develop and maintain data models, data automation systems, reporting tools, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
• Manage and optimize processes for data intake, validation, and mining as well as modeling, visualization, and communication of deliverables.
• Interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in underwriting, marketing, and product teams.
• Communicate results and business impacts of insight initiatives to stakeholders
• Working appropriately across departments and across offices to accomplish corporate objectives and priorities
• Lead, develop and mentor individual contributors
• Effectively communicate strategy and priorities, set expectations, hold the team accountable, and get results.
• Effectively evaluate performance of your team as a whole as well as each individual on your team, including administering annual performance appraisals.
• Regularly meet with each team member for one-on-one check-ins, and be their first point of contact for any questions or concerns.
• Providing regular updates on projects and team performance to the Data Analytics Manager
• Proactively perpetuates the culture, work appropriately across departments and across offices to accomplish corporate objectives and priorities.

What You’ll Bring

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, etc.
• Working knowledge of data mining principles: predictive analytics, mapping, and data collection from multiple systems
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
• Experience using analytical concepts and statistical techniques: hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations
• Experience with statistical modeling techniques: GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
• Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
• Experience using analytics techniques to contribute to department and company growth efforts.
