Location: Hybrid Work Model


As a Product Development Specialist, you will work with key stakeholders to support the Personal Lines Go To Market Strategy of profitable growth. This is accomplished by using your problem solving and continuous improvement skills in analyzing, planning, organizing, and directing the rate review, product development, and market development efforts for assigned states and lines of business. This will include:

  • Manage Central's Personal Lines of business including: Auto, Homeowners, Dwelling Fire, Scheduled Personal Property, Personal Umbrella and Specialty products
  • Using dashboards and other data sources, evaluate product profitability, growth, and retention experience; build and implement appropriate product strategies for each product offering
  • Lead the development and deployment of product changes, rate reviews and rate changes for each product line for the assigned states
  • Monitor and analyze competitor products and pricing; address identified opportunities with product and pricing changes that sustain profitable growth
  • Research and introduce third party business solutions that address market opportunities and/or product gaps
  • Monitor and address regulatory and compliance changes to ensure compliance 
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal and external business partners on issues involving Central's Personal Lines products and programs
  • Organize and manage assigned projects throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist in the development of appropriate supporting IT business requirements, underwriting, marketing, filing, communications, and training materials
  • Develop monitoring and analysis metrics and tools to track Key Performance Indicators to meet the needs of the products and projects
  • Display critical thinking and evaluation when researching and responding to inquiries and referrals

We are seeking someone with the following experience/skills/knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of Personal Lines products and pricing methodologies
  • Minimum of 3+ years of Personal Lines Underwriting experience either in a home office or regional office role
  • Demonstrated project management and execution experience preferred
  • Established qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills
  • Proven ability to build optimal solutions for business problems
  • Well organized with solid prioritization and project management skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals or groups at all levels of the company as well as external partners
  • Strong oral presentation skills
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Available for travel as needed
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • CPCU or other relevant industry designations preferred
