Administration - Industrial Engineer
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Industrial Engineer analyzes and improves existing processes, playing a key role in driving better productivity and cost effectiveness. Progress is achieved by identifying and implementing changes to improve employee, facility, and system performance while maintaining or improving safety, quality and customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, research, implement and maintain current Warehouse and Labor Management Systems to improve labor activity within the distribution centers
Provide engineering support for the establishment and maintenance of accurate labor standards
Maintain labor standards documentation
Improve work methods through application of Lean techniques, deploying best practices
Support information systems and technology deployments, interacting with other functional departments to accomplish project objectives
Provide Operations team with necessary support and guidance for improving utilization
of resources
Provide guidance and support for cost reduction projects
Perform analyses, develop metrics and reports
Utilize CAD to design and improve facility layouts
Utilize simulation software to improve product flow
Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
Labor standards system and development experience
Experience with complex warehouse management systems, RF technology and voice technology
Minimum 3 years in a distribution environment
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and CAD
Simulation software utilization experience
Six Sigma Greenbelt is a plus
Database skills
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
Project management experience is a plus
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with ability to adapt to change
