Poultry Buyer

POSITION OVERVIEW:
 
A Poultry Buyer at Bozzutos will negotiate favorable pricing, quality, delivery, and terms. This person will manage assigned categories as strategic business units, producing enhanced business results by focusing on consumer value. Procure, plan, direct, and monitor assigned categories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Analyze and monitor sales records, trends, weather, seasonality, and economic conditions to anticipate customer buying patterns and determine what will be sold and how much inventory is needed.
• Achieve budgeted sales and gross profits results.
• Achieve budgeted inventory turns and service levels.
• Manage product assortment through category and SKU evaluation, efficient assortment, Vendor selection, new and discontinuance of items.
• Manage promotion process through a promotional planning calendar, defining and establishing category strategies, and establishing retail and wholesale budgets.
• Manage pricing by monitoring weekly pricing activities, contract negotiations, and managing promotional dollars.
• Keypunch purchase orders.
• Interface with accounting and vendors regarding pricing, payment and deduction issues.
• Participate in ad writing process.
• Collaborate with merchandising and sales to support a teamwork atmosphere.
• Interact with the Logistics Supply chain
• Ensuring customer satisfaction while maintaining budgeted sales and profits. 
• Maintain professionalism in and outside of work.
• Attend all educational and required courses to keep present with Bozzuto’s Management systems and job-related aspects.
• Work in a fast-paced atmosphere.
• Work in cold conditions when needed (coolers) 
• Problem solving.
• Work extra hours in addition to the normal schedule when needed.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• Maintain standards of personal hygiene and proper dress code.
• Report to your Supervisor all problems that interfere with a safe and orderly work environment.
