Pay Class: Full Time 
Shifts Available: Monday-Friday/Day 

Rate:  $19.00-$22.00 
  
About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all.  
 
Position Purpose:  The CELC Coordinator is an entry level leadership role, including administrative oversight of education programs, in accordance with YMCA quality standards. The position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through Youth Development Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. The CELC Coordinator supports the Director with daily operations of childcare programs, creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes all children and families, while promoting and maintaining a strong educational program in accordance with the YMCA and licensing and quality requirements. 

 

 

 Responsibilities: 

 

  •  Leads the childcare program’s daily operations including scheduling, communication, and maintaining program statistics and audits to monitor and evaluate the quality of the program. 
  • Supports leadership with recruiting and hiring diverse educators who meet the qualifications required by licensing and quality assurance standards. Onboards, trains and develops educators and staff. 
  • Engages the community to meet the needs of the families served. 
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. 
  • Develops utilizes functional expertise to assure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed. 
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with peers, parents and educators, and community organizations (e.g., state child care licensing agency, school administration) to maximize program impact and drive overall outcomes; maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility. 
  • Participates in activities to support family engagement and participates in Y activities, such as committees, special events, and fundraising. 
  • Ensures compliance with all YGBW policies and standard operating procedures. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field OR 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education, or the Human Services field and one year experience with children OR 
  • Associates degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience 
  • Demonstrate ability to develop and teach skills 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Must keep an up-to-date DHS file with a current physical 
  • Ability to effectively use technology for programmatic needs 
  • Obtain and maintain all new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire
