Job Title: Custodian 

Branch: Jennersville YMCA

Pay Class: Part Time

Shifts Available:  Saturday – Sunday/7 pm - 10 pm

Starting Rate:  $13.00 - $15.00

About the YMCA of Greater Brandywine: The YMCA of Greater Brandywine (YGBW), an association of eight YMCAs serving Chester County, is a non-profit organization committed to nurturing the potential of every child, promoting healthy living and fostering social responsibility through life-changing programs for all. 

Position Purpose: As part of the custodial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment for our members. Custodial staff properly and thoroughly accomplished the cleaning of the Jennersville YMCA facilities as well as light building maintenance and repair. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will ensure that our members have a comfortable and enjoyable time.

Responsibilities:

• Complete all facility custodial duties outlined by Facilities Director, in a conscientious and timely manner.
• Model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
• Advise Facilities Director on custodial issues and projects as requested.
• Ensure that all custodial equipment is maintained, stored, and properly operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA and industry best practices.
• Attend staff meetings as requested.
• Complete all required YMCA training within the time allotted.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Working knowledge of custodial-related functions. Two or more years of experience in a custodial or closely related field is preferred.
• Custodial and/or facilities experience: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Custodial: Familiarity with maintaining cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, locker rooms or common spaces.
• Attention to detail: Thoroughly clean and inspect rooms/areas to ensure they meet quality standards of our branch.
