General Function

The Early Learning Caregiver will be responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and fun program for Early Learning Center participants.

Education/Experience/Training/Certifications

  • At minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent (over 18+ years of age)
  • 1 year of experience in supervising children is preferred, but not required
  • Completion of MiRegistry within 90 days of hire and Documentation of TB Test
  • National/State Fingerprint Background and Drug Screening Clearance
  • Willing to work Monday through Friday, occasional evenings or weekends for professional development

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains a respectful and positive communication with families/parents
  • Ensures the safety, wellbeing, and health of children in the program
  • Assists with maintaince of head counts of cihldren in care at all times and apprpriate activities
  • Adheres to assigned work schedule to maintain staff-to-child ratios
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

Abilities & Skills

  • Ability to hear and observe distress signals in the water and anywhere in zone of responsibility

  • Skills to meet strength and lifting requirements
    Ability to participate in Early Learning activities in a variety of indoor and/or outdoor settings year round. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities. Ability to participate in all physical activities in program areas. Ability to sit and stand from a seated position on the floor when interacting with children.
