WAREHOUSE LEAD

Starting Pay: $25.00/hr 

Position Summary Description:

The Night Warehouse Lead will assist supervisors in day to day warehouse operations in accordance with Y. Hata standards, policies and procedures to ensure operations run safely and attain improved accuracy and efficiencies. The Lead will also serve as a hybrid Night Order Selector, Container Loader, or perform other functional positions as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure selectors are producing quality pallets that meet Y. Hata Standards.
• Monitor and improve production, safety, quality and efficiency on all employees.
• Help establish Standards for Selectors and loaders.
• Provide selectors/loaders with Technical Support as needed to ensure production success.
• Participate in problem solving through a corrective action system as assigned.
• Support operations with daily tasks such as selecting and replenishing to meet deadline.
• Coach team members based on productivity, Safety and best practices for order selecting, replenishment and loading.
• Perform a Safety walk at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Learn all job functions that are associated with night operations.
• Monitor/help reduce damages.
• Oversee all daily cleaning/aisle assignment sheets.
• Promote and ensure all Food Safety and Warehouse Safety standards are met and/or exceeded.
• Confirm that all transactions are closed to prevent delays in invoice printing.
• Secure warehouse (Close and lock doors & set alarm).
• Review any errors with the crew and brainstorm ideas on how to prevent the error from happening again.
• Think of ways to continuously improve our systems at night to make the job both easier and more efficient.
• To learn all the tasks required to become a Supervisor.
• Performs similar and related duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Uses the Company’s Mission/Vision Statements and Core Values as their guiding principles.

Education/Training and Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Five years of distribution or warehouse experience, preferable in the foodservice industry.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
