Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

Position: Senior Manager of Treasury
The Senior Manager of Treasury is responsible for day-to-day treasury management, including cash and debt accounts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree in accounting or finance and 5 years Not- For-Profit experience. Financial accounting experience including knowledge of financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP requirements, especially relating to cash, cash equivalents, debt and investments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with and influence internal and external peer constituents. Working knowledge of MIP/Abila, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office is required. Experienced in writing internal policies and procedures. Ability to work independently and with significant attention to detail.
Senior Manager of Treasury Principal Responsibilities:

Manage daily cash management for VOA-GNY’s deposit and disbursement accounts and lines of credit, including transactions, wires, adequate account funding and cash flow. Review daily bank balances and pending bank debits/credits along with general ledger balance to determine action needed. Prepare daily cash balance report for release to Controller, VP Of Finance, COO and CEO. Review for inactivity or unusual activity.

Coordinate weekly cash flow analysis and obtain information needed from Controller (A/P), Director of Budget/Billing/Payroll and Controller Related Entities. Prepare true-up to prior week’s estimate by the following Tuesday. Prepare current week’s estimate for team review each Wed.

Key staff liaison with banks serving VOA-GNY, Inc. and its related entities for cash, investment (VOA-GNY and pension) and credit card accounts. Key internal Point of Contact with finance and business office staff to resolve cash/debt/credit card management inquiries and issues.

Maintain online bank internet portal access to view and download bank account information needed for daily tasks as well as to provide timely interim and month-end statements to the Controller and the Controller of Related Entities, Financial Reporting and Asset Management during the year and for audits. Function as an administrator.

Prepare applications to establish / maintain bank account relationships for review and approval by VP of Finance /COO/CEO.

Review interest expense, bank fees and charges for accuracy and perform variation analysis.

Support the Controller in protecting agency assets and maintaining system of internal control. Review and recommend updates to Treasury-related policies annually by each March 1st. Prepare waterfall schedule of aged bank reconciliation items for review by Controller monthly during and after this transition. Provide reviewed copy of waterfall analysis to VP of Finance and COO quarterly within seventeen business days of each quarter-end.

Prepare monthly and quarter-end schedule of loans for VOA-GNY. Provide schedule quarterly to Controller for review and submission to CFO for inclusion in quarterly Finance Committee package by the 15th business day after each quarter-end. Agree debt balances to the general ledger recorded balances.

Propose entries for review and recordation by Controller and her designated staff member for cash transfers with information needed for accurate journal entry. Obtain review and written approval for cash journal entries affecting VOA-GNY due to /due from accounts by both the Controller and Director, Related Entities.

Support the Controller by documenting compliance with loan covenants for each debt agreement requiring covenant compliance, including tax exempt bond financings for Bathgate and VOA-GNY, Inc. Series 2017A and B. Maintain copies of documentation and calculations covenant requirements in Box.com with any required schedules / analysis along with proof of submission (signed letter as required or email) to banks (i.e. BankUnited, TD Bank), custodian (BNYMellon)/ underwriting agency (i.e. BuildNYC). Ensure all bank line of credit and debt agreements are indexed and maintained in Box.com. Monitor compliance during the year and at intervals required by loan agreements.
