Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

The Program Director manages the delivery of services to residents within the policies and guidelines of Volunteers of America.
Volunteers of America’s East New York Residence is a single room occupancy residence (SRO) that provides permanent, supportive housing to formerly homeless single adults, including veterans and those suffering from mental illness. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and five years relevant experience, with three years supervisory experience. The position also requires a demonstrated ability to manage social service programs serving diverse client populations with substantial budget responsibility. In addition, it requires a reasonable combination of skills in the following areas: the design, operational oversight and evaluation of program services, personnel management, budget development and control, property management, public relations, and governmental relations.
Program Director Principal Responsibilities:
- Develop and market program services and assist with writing RFPs.
- Manage program services for quality and consistency.
- Manage program personnel.
- Manage fiscal operations – i.e., overtime expenses.
- Manage program facilities.
- Manage community and governmental relations.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned.
