What are we looking for?

Responsible for the supervision of the Billing Department tasks and responsibilities and team performance in their completion.  Supervise team activities in the creation and delivery of customer invoices, support to customers regarding those processes and problem and process resolution and improvements for the HSP system Billing team. The Supervisor Billing will also directly support the implementation of new clients, system tools and processes relative to HSP system billing.

  • Supervise the billing team to include selection, training and development, coaching, counseling and performance management.
  • Supervise department staff and activities to complete tasks within define SLA and quality standards defined, monitoring team performance in comparison to expectations
  • Manage all established SOC controls in accordance with defined expectations, monitoring weekly to ensure proper completion of tasks and retention of evidence of controls is completed. Monthly review and confirmation of controls completion and adherence required.
  • Assist the manager/director in implementing processes to ensure timely receipt, conversion, storage, transmission and customer receipt of agreed upon membership data, information and other materials
  • Assist in designing business and technical requirements to support new business functions, improve internal processes, and satisfy external customer requests, and change or enhance the functions of current programs for the same reasons
  • Monitor and support billing distribution process to ensure timely and effective distribution of customer invoices
  • Lead and support team efforts in the development and implementation of the system invoicing for ASO, FFS and Health Plan customers. Lead team efforts in routine creation and distribution of these invoices.
  • Monitor and lead staff efforts in the completion of team activities to meet and exceed defined metric objectives.
  • Work closely with the Enrollment and Finance team members related to invoice creation and processes to initiate the handling and resolution of any challenge or concerns that arise.
  • Ensure timely and accurate system billing configuration and the generation of bills for all new and renewed groups.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of HSP enrollment and billing, Billing portal, RT system and HSP workflow items to lead team activities.
  • Working as part of a team environment, partner to ensure customer expectations are met for both internal and external customers.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other departments of the company in establishing and carrying out responsibilities
  • Provide access to training for responsible teams and ensure that the authority and responsibilities for each position are defined and understood
  • Develop and implement education and training programs for supported associates
  • Conform with and abide by all federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures, and instructions
  • Adhere to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. HIPAA)
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Handle special projects as required
  • Conform and abide with all Federal State and local regulations, company policies, procedures and instructions
  • Other duties as assigned

What’s necessary to do the job?

 

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience or education
  • Five (5)  to seven (7)  years  years experience in the billing of health industry premiums to customers, management of payments and handling of payment discrepancies is required.
  • Minimum Three (3) years of supervisor/leadership experience, including demonstrated experience in managing teams, setting goals/expectations, managing to timeline driven outcomes preferred.
  • Minimum Three (3) years experience in health care insurance
  • Experience with MicroSoft Office tools, including Outlook, Excel and Word required.
  • Direct client interface experience required.

The wage range for applicants for this position is [$60,000.00 to $70,000.00].

All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
