Position Summary:
The Level II Repair Specialist serves as a member of the Asset Management team. This group is tasked with procuring, preparing, and pricing various types of moving and storage equipment. This individual is responsible for determining service and repairs needed on Trans Advantage Equipment and maintains lines of communication regarding these items with the Shop Team Leader. The Level II Repair specialist will have the autonomy to make value-based decisions and will have the opportunity to continue to develop within the industry and advance their career within Trans Advantage.

The work location for this role is Fenton, MO and will involve occasional outside and offsite work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspects new and used equipment delivered to the Equipment Lot and writes up condition reports.  
  • Performs minor repairs and installation of ancillary items.
  • Increases efficiencies in reconditioning process through continual process improvement.
  • Performs prepping and detailing at a high standard.
  • Performs road tests of equipment.
  • Communicates effectively and regularly with sales staff and Asset Department on a wide variety of topics.
  • Performs pick-up and delivery of equipment to/from vendors as needed.
  • Orders parts and supplies for the Truck Lot and to fulfill customer needs.
  • Assists customers who visit lot in a friendly and helpful manner
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA and Company standards.
  • Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Serves to onboard and mentor potential new Level I Repair Specialist.
  • Provides coverage for Shop Team Leader in event of Leader’s absence.
  • Demonstrates willingness to grow in this position by pursuing requested training or certifications to benefit the business and personal experience.
  • Performs quality checks on all work performed.
  • Supports our Safety Culture, address any unsafe behaviors, audits for safety compliance, and ensures all visitors in the shop are safe.
  • Assists the Asset Management Team, Sales Executives, Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Customers with technical support, resolving equipment concerns and breakdown calls. Provide follow up to ensure concerns are handled in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the inspection of new and used vehicle arrivals for quality, defects and fully operational systems.
  • Perform thorough detailing to the interior and exterior of vehicles being prepared for customer delivery.
  • Complete checklists according to established processes and provide accurate documentation.
  • Ability to safely operate shop tools, buffer, pressure washer and properly handle cleaning agents and chemicals.
Education, License or Certification: 
• High School Diploma/GED
• CDL B Air Endorsement

Experience: 
• 5 years of experience performing minor repairs on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
• 5 years of proven leadership within a repair facility
