Insurance Billing Administrator
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Insurance Billing Administrator for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Job Summary
Performs clerical accounting/financial functions under limited supervision including record keeping and reporting for insurance billing. Serves as a liaison with vendors and field regarding insurance billing. Compiles, organizes, and completes the general liability and worker’s compensation data to provide renewal information to insurance brokers. Maintains auto listing for each unit; prepares records for monthly insurance invoices; works directly with insurance company auditors and provides backup information. Maintains data management systems for department.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of general clerical practices and procedures. Knowledge of and ability to perform accurate mathematical computations. Knowledge of basic insurance principles and practices. Ability to perform general accounting and bookkeeping practices. Ability to prepare and maintain an accurate and complete record-keeping system. Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships throughout the Southern Territory. Ability to respond to inquiries from the field, provide accurate information, and resolve claims’ problems in a courteous and tactful manner. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to keypunch information into a computer. This job requires hand movement, finger dexterity, reading, and writing.
Education and Experience
Associate degree required And Three years of experience performing accounting, bookkeeping, and/or insurance billing with limited supervision. Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Manual dexterity. This job requires a limited amount of physical effort associated with walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying light objects (up to 30 lbs) 5 – 10% of work time. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or hazardous conditions.
