Web Operations Specialist
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Web Operations Specialist for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Job Summary
Plans, implements, supports, optimizes, and maintains the Southern Territory’s websites. Supports marketing, fundraising, event management, public relations, and other capacity building operations at the national, territorial, divisional, and local level.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Solid working knowledge of the WordPress website platform and familiarity with other similar platforms. Knowledge of the principles and practices of website administration including creation, implementation, and content development. Knowledge of web development and maintenance. Knowledge of the principles and practices of data management, integration, validation, and reporting. Knowledge or proficient use of digital marketing, digital fundraising, and social media tools such as Hootsuite, Classy, Crowdrise, MobileCause, Blackbaud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and all social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and more a plus. Ability to provide technical support assistance to users via phone or online. Proficient with FTP, DNS, and basic understanding of web server management systems and security. Proficiency and experience with Adobe and Google Analytics or similar analytics solutions. Ability to work effectively as a collaborative member of a team and independently to carry out responsibilities. Ability to use good judgment. Ability to be flexible and adaptable. Ability to be a self-starter and innovator; to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities. Ability to adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by The Salvation Army. Ability to support the mission of The Salvation Army through work responsibilities and always reflect positively on the brand values through all work and interactions. Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential communications or activities. Ability to maintain professional, courteous, and cooperative manner with all Territorial and “field” personnel and outside contacts by always demonstrating respect and a positive attitude toward them. Ability to demonstrate dependability through attendance and punctuality. Ability to quickly communicate about, coordinate, develop and deploy digital communications and tasks at any time as needed, sometimes during non-standard hours, in the context of urgent situations. Ability to travel as needed. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Education and Experience
Associate Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field required, bachelor's degree in related field preferred AND Minimum three or more years of relevant web experience, AND Preferred experience with HTML, CSS, WordPress, PHP, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), content and data management systems, Internet marketing software/systems, web servers and security, and domain management tools or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Works is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
