The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Divisional Data Administror the NSC Division.

 

Job Summary

Plans, directs, supervises, researches, and evaluates statistical reporting operations; provides initial and ongoing division-wide technical and program statistical support; provides statistical summaries and membership information as needed and reconciles any resulting changes; maintains the integrity of a customized internal records database; ensures statistical information is recorded in an accurate, complete and timely manner; serves as a resource for statistical data to the field, division and territory; serves as technical and informational liaison between leadership and end-users: communicates with the Territorial Statistician; trains local unit statisticians to utilize the NSS web-based statistical program.

Performs a variety of clerical and secretarial work necessary for the smooth operation of the office; performs typing and filing; prepares minutes for meetings; files and records information, Divisional Command Annual Review, Farewell Brief, and special events; greets and announces visitors and clients; provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services; monitors, tracks, and engages in the day-to-day operations and assists with maintenance of database containing up-to-date records; prepares mass mailings.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability and willingness to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army, and conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles. Ability to project a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Proficiency on keyboard; 40 wpm. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the work. Ability to train, present information, and communicate by e-mail, phone, and in person in a courteous and tactful manner and with the highest level of professionalism.Ability to plan and organize work in compliance with quality standards and deadlines under minimal supervision. Ability to use all currently applicable Microsoft Office programs and to learn and become proficient using other specific computer software, as necessary. Ability to maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that records can be retrieved in a timely manner. Ability to learn and become proficient in specific computer software. Ability to meet attendance requirements.  Ability to read, write and communicate the English language Ability to perform routine mathematical computations Ability to operate various general office equipment including business telephones, computer, printer, calculator, facsimile, copier, and scanner. Ability to direct phone calls to the appropriate person or destination Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to clients requiring assistance. Ability to travel as needed.

 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required, and three years’ experience providing administrative or secretarial support in an office environment with at least one year of supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
 

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Driver’s License.

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
