Bank Account Administrator
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Bank Account Administrator for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Prepares and processes all legal documents to open, close or change signatures for all bank accounts in the Southern Territory ensuring that all accounts are set-up and maintained in accordance with Salvation Army policy and in a timely and accurate manner in order to ensure the security of funds in all bank accounts; prepares all correspondence to issue power of attorney forms, bank corporate resolutions, the Salvation Army corporate resolution and all other related documents for opening new Salvation Army bank accounts, closing an account or otherwise effecting a change to an established account; conducts initial review of all bank documents for compliance with policy and regulations of The Salvation Army, makes changes to existing accounts and processes the documents and correspondence to close bank accounts; serves as liaison for the divisions and personnel of bank institutions; maintains the territorial bank accounts database keeping all account information current.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the practices and procedures of advanced accounting and/or bookkeeping work. Knowledge of project management skills. Knowledge of the banking industry and familiarity with legal terminology found in banking documents. Knowledge of accepted practices and techniques for preparing routine and complex spreadsheets. Knowledge and intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Adobe Acrobat. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of effective and efficient record keeping practices and procedures. Knowledge of the English language including proper grammar and punctuation. Knowledge of basic mathematics and ability to perform routine computations. Knowledge of and ability to operate and utilize MS Great Plains Accounting software. Ability to generate and record financial data. Ability to work well under the pressure of deadlines. Ability to transcribe dictation and type correspondence in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the department. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically. Ability to keypunch and type information into a computer. Ability to operate various kinds of office equipment. This job requires hand movement, finger dexterity, reading, and writing. Education and Experience
High School Diploma or G.E.D. required with additional; financial courses preferred, AND Four years’ progressively responsible experience in the banking industry with limited supervision or paralegal experience preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. License and Certifications: Valid State Driver’s license, Notary Public Certification, Paralegal certification preferred
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
This job requires a limited amount of physical effort associated with walking, standing, bending, stooping, lifting and carrying light objects (up to 30 1bs) 5 – 10% of work time. Ability to sit and work at a computer up to 75% of work time. This job is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or hazardous conditions.
