Christmas Driver - Nashville TN

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Christmas Driver for the Kentucky - Tennessee Territory, located in, Nashville, TN.

Job Summary:

Drives truck and/or van to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse.  Responsible for driving the truck and/or van to and from homes, agencies, and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc.  Loads and unloads gifts from the truck to the warehouse.  Operates the truck and/or van in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads, and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the assigned geographic area. Ability to organize route in a manner that saves time and gasoline Consumption. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to operate commercial equipment, Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing duties given, Ability to perform continuous stooping, standing and climbing as well as lift and carry and/or push/pull moderate (25 – 50 lbs.)  and possibly heavy (50-100 lbs.) materials and donations.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or G.E.D.  A minimum of two years driving experience.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment.  Moderate mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
