Senior Financial Reporting Analyst
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for an Senior Financial Reporting Analyst for the Southern Territory Headquarters, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Provides a comprehensive review and analysis of consolidated financial statements as required by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Spearheads the collection and analysis of the comprehensive financial package required from each individual Division within the Southern Territory. Works in conjunction with the Financial Consolidations Director and THQ Finance Manager/Consolidations Manager to provide an advanced level of support for year-end and interim reports and other procedures to ensure compliance with FASB, as well as prepare various consolidated analysis in support of the annual external audit Develops and reviews improved processes within the Consolidation section in conjunction with Financial Consolidations Director. Researches and proposes upgraded processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the Consolidations section. Provides analytical support in the development of new and continuous process improvement procedures related to the external audit process and changing requirements of GAAP.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Job Performance Knowledge of the principles and practices of basic and GAAP accounting and reporting. Knowledge of the principles and practices of accounting, finance, and bookkeeping. Knowledge and experience in the preparation of complicated consolidated financial statements. Knowledge of accepted practices and techniques for preparing complex spreadsheets, financial statements and reports. Knowledge of data management and monitoring of financial software. Ability to perform all tasks in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Ability to meet and achieve set goals and prioritize and plan work activities in a productive manner. Ability to prepare accurate and complete spreadsheets, balance sheets, trial balances, income statements, financial statements, and special financial reports. Ability to research, analyze, and provide recommendations for a substantial volume of data. Ability to manage multiple projects and process. Ability to generate customized reports utilizing the query and personal computer support functions of MS Great Plains to extract accounting information. Ability to perform routine and complex mathematical calculations. Ability to operate and use computer systems. Quality Ability to perform tasks accurately and thoroughly. Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or a related field – Required AND Four years progressively responsible accounting experience with two years financial reporting preferred.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time. Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or hazardous conditions.
