The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith based organization, has a job opening for a LeadCase Aide for the Family Life Center, located in Arlington, TX.
 
Schedule: weekdays, day shift; other shifts as needed for coverage 

Job Summary:

Serves as lead worker to Case Aide and Shelter Monitor staff; provides daily supervision, monitoring, reporting, and technical support services to clients in a residential shelter environment; interviews and screens clients for eligibility to receive The Salvation Army’s residential assistance; maintains appropriate records in addition to ongoing written and verbal communication with clinical and other professional staff in relationship to daily client activities; performs crisis intervention counseling when needed; works with individuals and groups to develop life management skills; facilitates an emotional and physical environment conducive to enhancing positive client morale and stabilization; reports pertinent information to the Program Manager.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic recordkeeping practices and procedures.

Knowledge of individual and group counseling as well as crisis intervention techniques.

Knowledge of community resources and agencies providing social service assistance.

Ability to communicate effectively with clients in order to control, lead, and motivate behavior.

Ability to maintain the security and confidentiality of client records.

Ability to work independently and with limited supervision while enforcing established policies and procedures.

Ability to serve as a role model with physical and emotional health adequate to meet the demands of the position.

Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or G.E.D., and one year of experience performing social service work, with one year supervisory experience preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid State Driver’s License

CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.

Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.

Ability to drive a vehicle safely and in accordance with all laws and regulations.

Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (less than 50 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a residential facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like, but may be exposed to other discomforts associated a shelter environment.
