Angel Tree Worker
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Seasonal Angel Tree Worker in the Suffolk Corps.
Coordinates and attends special events for the Angel Tree Program; managing the Angel Tree Table at area Angel Tree sits in local malls, shopping centers, etc. Creates and maintains files, on individuals or groups, who have selected angel tags, collect returning gifts and ensuring correct angel tags are attached. Will provide Corps officers with regular updates.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.;
Two years’ experience working in a social or public service environment with experience assisting the public;
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of public relations and community cultivation.
Skill in motivational techniques.
Ability to implement guidelines, procedures, and policies.
Ability to work with others to motivate them to give of their time and skills to The Salvation Army.
Ability to deal with the public and communicate The Salvation Army’s mission and about the Angel Tree Program.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to think, concentrate, and learn.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Mental and Physical Abilities
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Work may be performed in a normal office environment within a climate-controlled structure. There are little, or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and dirt.
