The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Christmas Kettle Coordinator for the Kentucky - Tennessee Territory, located in Richmond. KY
 

Job Summary:
Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of employee and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs; prepares records and reports regarding the same.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices. Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision. Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff. Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff. Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database.

 

Education and Experience:
High School or G.E.D and one year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Duties are usually performed seated.  Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light (less than 25lbs.)materials, supplies, and equipment. Light mobility: duties are usually performed by a combination of standing, walking, and primarily sitting.  
 

Working Conditions:
Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions.  Dressing appropriately is important for remaining safe and comfortable.
