The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has an opening for a Housekeeping Supervisor for Camp Hoblitzelle, located in Midlothian, Texas.
Supervises, participates, instructs, and monitors the day-to-day general housekeeping of the entire Hoblitzelle Camp and Conference Center; cleans rooms; maintains the neatness and cleanliness of the resident facility on a daily basis.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices, general building and grounds maintenance practices and procedures including proper safety precautions. Knowledge of effective procedures and practices for washing, drying and folding large volumes of clothes and linens. Ability to perform routine cleaning duties, minor repairs, and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. Ability to use and maintain cleaning and maintenance equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner. Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Education and Experience
No formal education required, And Three years experience performing housekeeping work with at least one year lead worker or supervisory experience, Or Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certifications: Valid State Driver’s License
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the needed janitorial work. Ability to safely drive a vehicle. Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) frequently. Working Conditions: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.
