HR Manager – LSC Communications (Canada)

As the HR leader for our Canadian entity, you play a critical role in partnering with the business to execute our people strategy and priorities. With responsibility across the full spectrum of HR functions, you’ll wear multiple hats on any given day, and you’ll be adept at balancing your time between strategic HR opportunities and day-to-day support for our dedicated workforce.

Our sites are located in Mississauga (TOPS Products) and Newmarket (Lakeside Book Company). The schedule would currently be two days on site at Mississauga, two days on site at Newmarket and one day working from home. This schedule is non-negotiable.

Key responsibilities:

· Work closely with site leadership teams to align HR support to strategic and yearly operating plans

· Provide thoughtful leadership and coaching support to management teams and people leaders

· Manage hourly and salaried talent recruitment and onboarding efforts

· Partner with the payroll team to ensure accurate processing and issue resolution

· Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and employee development activities

· Elevate the quality and accountability of goal setting, employee training & development, and performance discussions

· Address employee and labour relations issues in a timely and satisfactory manner

· Provide guidance on employee relations matters affecting employee morale, retention, and culture

· Manage benefits vendor relationships and annual processes (enrollment, audits, etc.)

· Ensure accurate and timely compliance with Canadian policies, labour, and disability laws

· Provide leadership to health & safety programs, and related initiatives

· Special projects as assigned

Ideal candidates will have:

· College or university degree preferred, or relevant experience in lieu of degree

· 8+ years of HR experience

· 3+ years of manufacturing and/or distribution experience

· Union experience desired

· Formal HR certification desired
