Job Summary

Looking for a Certified Midwife who can offer comprehensive women's services, including obstetrics and gynecology. Certified Midwife applicants may be required to have hospital privileges and provide in-patient obstetrical services. 


Certified Nurse Midwife Key job responsibilities would include seeing patients in an outpatient/inpatient clinic providing full scope of practice to include:. Provision of all Contraceptive Forms including IUDs and sub dermal implants. Care of women across the lifespan, from menarche to beyond menopause. Full scope intrapartum care including postpartum rounds and labor management. Schedule/Hours: Hours will vary and will include night call, in house. NRP, ACLS, BLS Required. Applicant should be willing to obtain hospital privileges and to deliver babies

Job Qualifications 
  • Must have at least two-year experience in Women's Health.
  • Active Ohio R.N. license or eligibility to practice professional nursing in the state of Ohio
  • National certification CNMW
  • Current prescriptive authority in the state of Ohio (APNP certification)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for Healthcare Professionals Certification; ACLS, PALS preferred. 
  • Ability to travel between work sites.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Examines, diagnoses, and treat female patients / Examines diagnoses and treats female patients with a medical problem that are obstetrical or gynecologic 
  • Act as a resource person for other staff on medical matters; keep informed of current developments in the family planning field; may assist in training new staff, students.
  • Provide follow-up exams, problem revisit exams and pregnancy assessment. 
  • Provide evaluation, problem identification, and formulation of treatment plans as medically indicated.
  • Obtain complete and accurate medical history; promote patient well-being through education.
  • Perform moderate complexity testing and follow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results; 
  • Maintain records that demonstrate that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples;
  • Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed;
  • Follow the laboratories established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratories established acceptable levels of performance;
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant or director, or quality management manager; and document all corrective actions are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratories established performance specifications.

Physical Demands/Work Environment
  • This job operates in a outpatient office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms. The position may require the use of personal protective gear. 
  • Exposure: To communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions common to a clinical environment.
