Landscape Assistant Account Manager

Job Description  

 

Reports to: Landscape Account Manager

Department: Landscape 

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Position Purpose: The Assistant Account Manager has the responsibility for the day to day operations.

Position Overview:

  • The ASSISTANT ACCOUNT MANAGER supervises, monitors, hires and terminates Foremen and laborers.

  • Provides training for new Foreman and laborers, including safety training of all equipment, accident procedures, and proper maintenance procedures.

  • Meets with all Property Managers and customers as directed.

  • Ensures successful completion of Work Order Requests within the allotted time limits.

  • Assists Foremen as needed in the completion of their duties.

  • Monitors supply and tool inventory levels and completes monthly inventory.

  • Orders products as directed by the Branch Manager.

  • Assigns Foremen to properties, laborers to crews, and equipment.

  • Develops and modifies schedules to ensure maximum manpower effectiveness within budget allotments.

  • Ensures the company’s maintenance guidelines are being followed by all maintenance employees and takes personal responsibility for the condition of all properties.

  • Completes truck inspections and ensures compliance with vehicle maintenance and operation guidelines. Coordinates vehicle basic maintenance (oil, filter, lube) and repair schedule.

  • Delegates various job responsibilities to the Foremen as needed.

  • Performs annual performance reviews for Foremen.  

  • Schedules and supervises operations meetings.

  • Opens the shop daily and ensures that the shop building is left properly secured during the day.

  • Responsible for inventory of all shop equipment and tools and must report any missing tools to the Branch Manager within 24 hours

  • Picks up parts and supplies as needed for all maintenance operational needs.

  • Spot treats nutritional, insect and disease problems within guidelines set by the company.

  • Tracks employee attendance.

  • Reviews all Quality Control Reports, ensures their accuracy, and generates work orders as needed.

  • Submits proposals as directed by the Branch Manager.  Assists Branch sales person as needed in gathering field measurements, or establishing labor hour estimates.  Sales responsibility includes enhancement proposals and sales.  May have a monthly sales goal.   

  • Submits all property damage reports to the Branch Manager within 48 hours of the damage, with course of action to prevent future occurrence.

  • Ensures that all equipment is maintained properly as directed by the Branch Manager.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include instructing and training employees.

  • Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a 2 year degree, or 3 years’ experience in the landscape maintenance field.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:  Must have a valid driver’s license issued from the state in which they reside.  The driving record must meet the standards in the Employee handbook.  Requires a valid NC pesticide license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee frequently is required to sit.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  On occasion, the employee may lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (extreme heat and cold).  The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
