Job Purpose:
Participates in wildland, rural and structural fire suppression, repairs equipment, responds to emergency situations and assists with station general housekeeping
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
(Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time)
- Responds to emergencies with assigned engine company
- Assists in fire suppression rescue, constructing fire lines, overhauling, salvage, and mop up
- Cleans and services fire fighting equipment and inspects and tests equipment carried on fire engines, ambulances, and crew carriers
- Participates in company fire prevention inspections, hydrant inspections and service
- Participates in building and grounds maintenance

Education and Experience:
Essential:

Successful completion of the following firefighter classes:
I-100, L-180, S-130, S-190
- Successful completion of the Sycuan Wildland Academy

Possession of a nationally recognized CPR certificate
Desirable:
- Possession of California Class C License in good standing
Skills and Knowledge:
Essential:

Working knowledge of firefighting equipment
- Ability to use hand tools, chainsaws, picks and shovels

Ability to analyze information and use sound judgment under emergency and/or hazardous circumstances
