The Data Service Quality Specialist role is to ensure that the services and insights provided by the Enterprise Data Operations Strategy team (EDOS) are consistent, are of the highest quality along with determining the performances measures, quality of work produced, constantly/consistently track the quality of work being produced by EDOS.  The Data Service Quality Specialist is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the delivery accuracy and of work product quality of EDOS and will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and overall quality of data products delivered. The position will be reporting to the Sr. Director of EDOS. 

This is a remote position.

MUST HAVE: data quality management and data governance experience. 


Essential Functions

 

Process and Workflow Optimization:

  • Using critical KPI, streamline and optimize data development and delivery processes, ensuring efficient and effective execution of data, BI and analytic solutions.

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess data performance and report insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement data quality metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) necessary via dashboards.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of data operations and work products to identify discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies across all processes and best practices in EDOS team.

Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, Enterprise Data & BI, Business Analysts, Data Quality Assurance, App Dev teams, business stakeholders to address data quality challenges.

Release Management:

  • Oversee the planning and execution of data releases, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful and timely deployments.
  • Conduct final review and signoff for production releases.

Product Documentation:

  • Ensure comprehensive, up-to-date product documentation and easy discovery to internal teams and stakeholders to enhance data understanding and adoption.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear and concise reports for optimal performance of EDOS’s internal operations.

 

Industry and Technology:

  • Clear understanding of the industry domain and relevant metrics to support the EDOS needs.
  • Awareness of Agile and SCRUM methodologies used by the organization to bring projects to fruition.  
  • Experience in leveraging cloud technology (i.e., Azure services) to conduct data quality assessments.
  • Cognizant of emerging technologies and operate dynamically to integrate those technologies into the Data Quality solutions, where appropriate.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications

 Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Data Science, Advanced degree, or certifications would be a plus.

Experience:

  • Up to 3 years of experience in data quality management, data governance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in optimizing processes and workflows for data development and delivery.
  • Proficient in defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for data performance assessment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing data quality metrics and KPIs using dashboards.
  • Familiarity with data quality audits and assessments to identify discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies.

Tools and Technology:

  • Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques. (e.g., Talend, DataGaps, Right Data, Informatica)
  • Familiarity with data governance tools e.g. (Informatica, Atlan, Alation, Azure Purview) etc.
  • Two (2) years of report / solution development leveraging Power BI. 
  • Proven experience working with cloud technologies such as Azure cloud services, Snowflake, Databricks, Cloudera, or AWS services.
  • Excellent cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to facilitate alignment between different teams.
  • Competence in creating and maintaining comprehensive, up-to-date product documentation.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Work Environment

This position is an office environment with very limited exposure to any outside fumes, odors, heat and/or weather conditions.
