As our Accounts Receivable Manager you will lead the AR Cash Applications and Aging management teams of the Company ensuring accurate financial records through proper recording of accounts receivable, application of cash receipts and account reconciliations, collections of outstanding invoices and overall improve accounts receivable processes. This is to be done through implementation of standardized processes and automation, perform monthly account and customer analyses and dynamic reporting to provide business leaders actionable information.

What you will be doing

  • Hire, mentor and lead a team inclusive of a supervisor(s) and clerical staff
  • You will lead the following Teams
    • AR Cash Applications Team
      • Ensure the monthly closing of the Accounts Receivable module
      • Assist when needed in the completion of account reconciliations
      • Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly
      • Make recommendations to improve quality of invoicing procedures
      • Produce monthly KPI metrics for cash applications, on account balances, and customer account reconciliations for unapplied items
      • Lead implementation of A/R standard processes to achieve efficiencies and prepare for continued team and Company growth
      • Other duties as assigned  
    • Aging Management Team
      • Initiate and organize, the Aging Management team
      • Set a standard protocol for action and duty expectations for team members
      • Lead the maintenance and further development of the Oracle Collections module
      • Maintain KPI metrics which are meaningful to the Company, business and functional leaders regarding collection of outstanding AR (i.e. DSO, customer risk profiles, timeliness of payment receipt, history of bad debt write offs, etc.)
      • Monitor timely collection of monies due to Company
      • Work with business leaders to provide actionable insight into their respective aged receivables for feedback, analysis and to ensure timely collection of invoices
      • Engage external 3rd party collection agencies where needed to provide the Company additional resource and avenues to receive payment
  • Project Manage small projects and large initiatives by creating vision, strategic direction, detail project plans (inclusive of timelines, team members involved and level of effort)
  • Develop an understanding of the integrated financial systems at Savage and how such work together to record, incorporate, and report data for the business (i.e. Oracle, OBI, DOBI, etc.)

Here is what we need from you

  • Understand the macro level or “Big Picture” of the AR team, the Core Services team and the Company
  • Experience managing a growing and dynamic team 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Have a working and inherent knowledge of accounting for revenue, AR, bad debt reserves, etc.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience navigating an ERP system relative to AR modules, queries, reporting, etc.
  • Financial analytical skills

Here are some of the physical requirements

  • This position requires working primarily in an office environment and will include travel to and in environments containing dust, chemicals and other such elements requiring Personal Protective Equipment in which position would be required to wear at such times
  • Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position
