POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the development and support of assigned applications. This also includes program documentation, systems operating instructions, application user guides(s) and test plans in accordance with company standards and methodologies. The position typically works with other IT team members, but may also work closely with business end users to gather requirements, provide training, or resolve issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience and Competencies
Required:
- Experience working in GUI based application development
- Experience writing SQL queries, Stored Procedures and Triggers
- Experience in defining business and non-functional requirements
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Understands change control processes
- Ability to work in a small team environment and multi-task
Preferred:
- PowerBuilder 12+, HTML, CSS, ASP, C#
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or above
- Work with web application development and mobile device applications
- Experience in Steel/Metal industry or other manufacturing enterprise or similar product development and support
Education
Required:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering or business administration or equivalent work experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee will frequently be required to:
- Operate in an office environment, routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, network tools/equipment, phones, photocopiers and scanners. This role is partially sedentary, however, some handling of materials is required. This would require the ability to walk, bend, kneel or stand, use of hands to finger, hold and handle, reach with hands and arms and to push/pull, lift or carry items up to 30 lbs.
The employee will occasionally be required to:
- This position will periodically require work in the mill environment with some exposure to heat/cold, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, noise and wearing safety equipment/clothing for protection from hazards
- Drive or travel by airplane

POSITION TYPE – WORK HOURS - TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Position is full time, exempt
- Position works an eight (8) hour day shift, Monday through Friday – additional work as needed
- Travel up to 10% of time in the field or at other SSAB locations
