HOW WILL YOU IMPACT OUR MISSION

The Banquet Worker provides customers with table service this position assists in making assigned facility efficient and attractive to the public. This position reports to the Banquet Lead, Food Service Supervisor or Food Service Manager.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Serves orders for food and beverages
• Prepares some food items such as salads and sauces
• Assists in escorting guests to and from scheduled activities
• Advises guests regarding menu items
• Assists guests
• Answers guests' questions regarding the Zoo and Safari Park
• Greets guests
• Closes down event in a timely manner
• Follows standard inventory procedures
• Adheres to all SDZWA and department policies and practices
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as required
  

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Commitment and top notch interpersonal skills to provide great customer service. Problem solving skills to identify practical solutions. Teamwork skills to work well with others and to be a productive member of the team and be able to set up and close down events in a timely manner. Applicants must be available weekends and at least two weekdays. Please note that hours can fluctuate from early hours before Park opening to late hours after Park closing.  

Please note if you are selected for this role you will be required to complete the Responsible Beverage Service Training (RBS) within 60 days of your hire date. Training will be provided to you by the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance and completed on site.

• Catering/Banquet experience is required
• Some bar tending experience is required
