PROFILE

The Senior Manager, Digital Content is a cross-functional role supporting both the Digital Engagement team and Creative team priorities. The role is responsible for the planning, execution, and utilization of content across a variety of client and internal digital and social channels, ensuring that creative plans in support of client and internal business and brands are properly supported and maximized via digital content opportunities. The role contributes to always-on digital and social media marketing, working with vendors, and internal stakeholders to help contribute to our clients overall digital and social campaign objectives.

PURPOSE

You are someone who is curious and ambitious, with expertise and a passion for planning, capturing and disseminating digital and social content. You have 5+ years of experience from working within a digital marketing department or agency.

You are a true subject-matter expert on content, digital platforms, social media and are well-versed in best-practices for these areas, coupled with a desire to innovate and seek out new solutions and opportunities through the lens of storytelling. You know how to both create content and how to guide our vendor and/or freelance partners through the planning and execution of digital content, how to maximize the potential of content via distribution on our digital and social channels, and how to ensure it is integrated into the broader marketing strategy and annual plans in support of our clients business objectives.  

As the Senior Manager, Digital Content, you are a strong writer and content creator with a talent for storytelling and crafting narratives across digital channels and platforms and have opinions and ideas about how to engage audiences. You can engage contributors, collaborators and stakeholders to achieve alignment and move projects from concept to completion with a focus on measurable results. You thrive in a dynamic environment, are a great collaborator and enjoy working closely with our team of Creative Directors who will own the overall campaign vision. Most importantly, you have the desire to lead by example and excel in a fast-paced business environment, always seeking new opportunities to improve our work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as writer, occasional designer and video editor of digital video and social media content, producing, managing and posting content (generated by yourself and other contributors) across a variety of social and digital platforms
  • Support Creative Directors to bring stories to life visually through storyboarding, and developing capture plans in the form of detailed shot lists
  • Plan content shoots, including sourcing external filming and editing vendors when necessary, booking locations, sourcing talent, developing schedules (pre-pro, min-by-min, etc…) overseeing the sourcing of props and equipment, ensuring the correct insurance is in place, etc…
  • Own the production budgets for content shoots
  • Manage projects with multiple vendor partners to provide the necessary guidance and leadership required to inform their work from a digital content capture and editing perspective, and maintain strong relationships with all vendor and external partners to maximize our collaborative work
  • Film and edit video content using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or another video editing software
  • Manage the holistic content calendar for select clients and their digital channels: social media channels, YouTube, and others as needed
  • Manage the creation of organic content for client social media channels, including briefing designers or external vendors as needed, in addition to directly producing original content as needed
  • Contribute to the management of select client social media channels, YouTube channels and web platforms – to ensure strategic alignment and performance growth, and that all are kept appropriately updated with organic and paid content according to the overall content calendar and campaign plans
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Digital Amplification to plan and execute paid campaigns across social media, YouTube and other digital channels as needed
  • Contribute to the community management of select social media channels (or any digital platform where users can comment and engage with content publicly), working closely with social media managers and/or community managers and our clients on response guides and plans, and define both a reactive and proactive strategy to maximize engagement and minimize risk
  • In partnership with Digital Engagement and Creative leadership, contribute to the strategy for content marketing, always on marketing, influencer marketing, and digital channels, ensuring they ladder up to our client’s brand strategy and support client objectives and business goals
  • Work with senior Digital Engagement and Creative leadership (Head of Digital Engagement and Creative Directors) to define annual objectives and build digital strategic plans through the lens of your role in alignment with our clients marketing objectives, brand priorities, product objectives and overall business goals for their organizations
  • Contribute to setting client social and digital objectives and building digital measurement plans and KPIs through the lens of content and channels for both annual content strategies and for individual digital-first campaigns and executions and always-on digital marketing; help translate these plans into sharable recurring reports that reflect outcome and key learnings and insights to demonstrate strong ROI
  • Set the pace for best-in-class content marketing work and digital content innovation, by challenging our external vendor partners and our internal team to continually improve our work and find new means and opportunities to do so; sourcing case studies and examples to learn from and sharing them out on an ongoing basis
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders on an ongoing basis (including producer and creative teams), and act as digital content subject-matter-expert to support their clients business objectives and priorities, while building excellent relationships across the organization and demonstrating strong collaboration skills.
  • Work with Producer teams and finance to help track our budget from a digital content perspective and ensure our investments both internal and with external partners are being utilized appropriately and according to plan; ensure that all our work is effectively measured according to our clients business objectives and marketing KPIs, and demonstrates ROI

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of professional experience in the field of marketing, communications, or publishing, with a specific focus on digital content
  • Strong storyteller with experience writing content
  • Experience with producing and managing content in support of strategic plans
  • Professional expertise and experience with digital platforms, social media, content marketing, influencer marketing, with a keen understanding of best practices and innovation
  • Expertise in digital analytics and measurement across digital and social media platforms, including producing reports that highlight KPIs and distill results
  • Experience using editing software including Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro for video and Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign for visuals
  • Experience with managing contributor, partner and vendor relationships, including tracking and managing related budgets and facilitating feedback
  • Strong presentation skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to distill results and insights into key take-aways and action items
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with multiple stakeholders, and demonstrate leadership within the workplace as a digital content expert
