Forklift Operator

SPP Miami, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schwarz Partners is currently seeking a Forklift Driver to support our Hialeah, FL facility. As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the forklift.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.
• Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
• Clean conveyor lines in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.
• Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to daily production schedule.
• Make recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
• Assist other forklift operators as necessary and is backup to Shipping Lead Person.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Load tallies & loading system.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Help maintain good housekeeping in work areas.

• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2+ years of forklift experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:

• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) and can speak fluent English.
