   POSITION SUMMARY:

The Server provides safe, quality, dining room service to residents and guests in accordance with service standards, and also assists with the set up and cleaning of the dining room.

These activities will fulfill the SageLife Mission and demonstrate the We Care Values and the Sage Associate Promise.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1.     Practice The Sage Way and Live the Values – Commit to and demonstrate the We Care Values & Sage Promises

2.     Serve food and beverages to residents and guests; in accordance to department training, answering questions about the menu and making recommendations.

3.     Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.

4.     Pre-bussing and cleaning tables after residents and guests have finished dining.

5.     Perform general cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, and taking out trash.

6.     Ensure that residents receive appropriate food choices for any special dietary needs (diabetic, low salt, etc.).

7.     Assist with special events and social hours.

8.     Works with a noticeable sense of urgency.

9.     Follows all departmental and county/state food safety guidelines, such as hairnets, gloves, hand washing, labeling & dating.

10. Keep current with state and facility required annual training.

11. Perform other duties as assigned.


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High school or GED equivalent.

Experience:

One year of experience as a server (preferred).

Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Able to speak, read, and understand English at a 12th grade level or higher.

Must be able to work well in a team environment and work calmly and effectively under pressure.

 

Licensures and Certifications:

Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.

 


 

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 25 lbs without assistance.

Able to hear, speak, bend, stoop, stand, reach as needed.

Able to walk up and down four flights of stairs.

Able to carry out responsibilities according to company or state guidelines and with limited or no supervision.

 

Other Requirements:

Able to stay beyond scheduled shift in the event of an emergency or inclement weather.
