The Unreal Technical Artist will work within Ross Video’s Virtual Creative Services department to assist in the creation, development, and deployment of virtual sets and augmented reality assets for virtual productions. Primarily, the Technical Artist will be responsible for developing Blueprints logic in Unreal, data integration, and show control programming in Ross Video’s UX and Dashboard platforms. This person will be an integral part of the production team and will be involved in every aspect of virtual production from specifying new projects through commissioning.  The Technical artist will also assist in marketing initiatives and tradeshow demonstrations.

 

A thorough understanding of the Unreal game engine and broadcast workflows is required. Knowledge and or familiarity with virtual productions and Ross Video’s products used to support virtual productions preferred. The Technical Artist will be required to travel to support client productions and major trade show demonstrations.

What the job is all about:

  • Virtual Design & AR Production
  • Collaborate with the RSVP team to specify new projects and develop technical road maps to achieve the goals of each project.
  • Engage clients to develop collaborative relationships to achieve project goals.  
  • Participate in trade show planning and execution
  • Assist high profile customers to develop or maintain complex workflows
  • Support with project management group to develop project workflows.
  • Produce technical workflow diagrams and participate in key customer demonstrations and proof-of-performance.
  • Provide technical guidance on the implementation and maintenance of new and existing software tools to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Work with the RSVP Team and Virtual Solutions departments on product roadmaps, development priorities, product direction, and new products – based on industry and customer trends
  • Help maintain and support the RSVP workflow and back-up priorities.

 

  • Administrative:
  • Attends meetings and conference calls as required to scope, complete, or otherwise facilitate successful completion of assigned projects as they relate to the job.
  • Work with other creative and professional service members to institute a consistent and standardized workflow solution

 

Who you are:

  • Unreal Game engine development experience. Ross XPression experiences preferred but not required.
  • Broadcast graphics experience or equivalent experience
  • Active passport with the ability to travel across Europe, Middle East, and APAC if needed
  • Post-secondary degree or trade school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Experience with 3D design
  • Knowledge of broadcast graphics systems & IT workflows
  • Ability to work with asset management systems is a plus
  • Able to take complex technical details and convey the information to others in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and very detail orientated
  • Self-starter and quick learner with the ability to work under minimal supervision
