The Facilities Project Manager, working with the Corporate Facilities team located in Ottawa, will be responsible to manage the program of Capital projects undertaken across our leased facilities globally. As part of the team that delivers the projects, this role will include but is not limited to, coordination of projects across the global program, reporting on key performance indicates such as on time, within budget and within scope and working with the individual project teams to coordinate both internal and external resources. You will provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) on the technical aspects of building projects and use your experience and knowledge of construction projects to manage scope creep as well as set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of projects. The Project Manager will be a key role in ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, informed and all aspects of each project meet the needs of the end users. You will be part of the core team that directly contributes to Ross Video’s success.

What the job is all about:

  • Working with Facilities Operations, will be responsible to document the project definition including scope, objectives and budget, as well as providing Subject Matter Expertise on technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress keeping up to date throughout project cycle
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including all financial approvals such as Budget submissions, Investment Proposals, PO requisition and tracking, change order approvals, as well as invoice payments and other approvals as required
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques and reporting all variances as required on regular basis
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals against the Facilities Project Program determined during the Annual Budget approval process
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget and report on the causes for those projects not meeting project gating and/or milestones
  • Work in a team environment to complete project tasks through coordination of internal resources and third parties/vendors (if required) for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation internal to Ross
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Report weekly on financial matrix as well as other key performance indicators
  • Escalate all issues to management as needed
  • Meet budgetary objectives set in the Project Program of Works and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis and prepare monthly reports for including accruals and forecast for project spending
  • Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document work flows
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Who you are:

  • Project Manager accreditation required with College or university degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Min 5 years Project Management experience in construction/facilities fit up or relevant projects
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent demands while maintaining a professional attitude
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, including Senior Management.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to all requests; strong trouble-shooting skills
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Strong-working knowledge of project management software as well as MS-Office package and general computer software
  • Knowledge of Ross Video products and/or broadcast/television production an asset.
  • May require travel to Ross Global offices as required for project leasing fit ups.
