About this Opportunity:
Regency Centers is seeking a DEI Specialist to join our corporate office located in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days in the office and 2 days working remote weekly. The DEI Specialist will coordinate, implement, and further the organization’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy to support and encourage an inclusive and diverse workforce and social practices through the pillars of Talent, Culture, Marketplace, and Communities. This individual will assist in the development and implementation of DEI policies and practices in areas such as recruitment, employee development, engagement, training, and community impact while also providing support in functional areas of HR such as Affirmative Action Plan (AAP)/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners to develop/implement strategies for recruiting and advancing a diverse workforce and to develop training to improve awareness and understanding of the benefits of diversity practices.
- Interpret relevant legislation and ensure compliance of organizational programs and policies.
- Participate in topical surveys and conduct research to inform best practices.
- Maintain active membership and participation with organizations that support and raise DEI awareness, such as Nareit, National Diversity Council, CEO Action, and MLT Racial Equity at Work.
- Compile and submit reports detailing employment statistics to governing bodies as required, such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) reporting, and Affirmative Action Plans (AAP).
- Provide reporting to Corporate Responsibility team and senior leadership as requested.
- Provide support as liaison to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) through their established framework and leadership teams.
- Facilitate collaboration with internal DEI council.
- Partner with Marketing to develop and deliver internal communications.
- Support HR senior leadership team in crafting, executing, and adapting Regency’s philanthropic strategy.
- Maintain and expand relationships with relevant charitable organizations and community partners (i.e., United Way, Habitat for Humanity), serve as national point of contact for all potential opportunities and engagements, and audit our affiliations annually to ensure Regency is aligned with the most appropriate and impactful causes in alignment with our organizational strategy.
- Provide support for various corporate philanthropic activities and engagements (i.e., administer donor dashboard to facilitate and track time/money donations, track annual charitable budgets, recast historical contributions when changes occur, ensure policies and procedures governing donation practices are followed and updated, assist with philanthropic response to crisis situations affecting communities/properties where Regency is located, and ensure that systems supporting philanthropic programs are achieving their intent while optimizing processes as needed).
- Administer 501(c)3 matching gifts program and ouRCommunities program (including supporting the selection team and the development of communications).
- Work with business operations team(s) to advance supplier diversity and other marketplace related initiatives to ensure DEI practices are embedded in our daily operations.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Human Resources team by actively participating in group projects and supporting other team members when necessary; complete special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from an accredited institution (additional, equivalent years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- At least five (5) years of related experience to include coordination of community impact efforts and demonstrated experience implementing and advancing DEI goals in a professional setting
- Experience utilizing E-solutions and web-based tracking and sourcing tools such as a CRM and/or donor portal(s)
- Intermediate level proficiency using MS Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Comprehensive knowledge of the DEI field’s concepts and principles
Preferred:
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or related certification(s)
- Experience working in Human Resources
