Summary of Position:
 

The IT Business Analyst – Data and Analytics (D&A) will be hands on role and will be responsible for a wide range of D&A reporting requirements gathering, design, improving existing D&A services, and other special projects that will serve different needs across the organization. This role is an individual contributor role and will be responsible for ensuring efficient business reporting, as per the business systems D&A team’s goals and objectives.
 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Help with design, developing and maintaining dashboards, visualizations, and other forms of ad-hoc reporting necessary to support data-driven business decisions and strategies.
  • Build views, data models, data dictionaries and self-service reporting using
    technologies like MS Power BI or similar reporting tools.
  • Ensure data quality is proactively monitored and unwanted changes or defects are proactively prevented and promptly fixed.
  • Support the selection, management, and support processes necessary to bring data into the future data lake/warehouse from various managed business systems.
  • Enable development of new and evolving reporting needs along with leaders to implement, refine and document processes and best practices to improve quality and enhance the functionality of all our self-service tools and current state reporting structures.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix issues within existing data and reporting tools.
  • Validate data and following best practices to ensure quality, compliance, and a positive experience for end users.
  • Make recommendations to create an environment where ongoing optimization is an organic part of our reporting and Business Systems D&A process.
  • Build relationships with business users and stakeholders to managed business systems D&A support services.
  • Metrics Driven and utilized them to improve the overall business systems support and performance of the team by improving processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for future support services or projects

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or similar fields or relevant past BA experiences in Data and Analytics teams.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant overall experience. Previous Multi-Family is advantage or other relevant industry experience at an Enterprise level is preferred.
  • Should have knowledge of various D&A and reporting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Four (4) or more years of combined relevant experience with D&A based reporting, Data Modeling, Automations, implementation, and management of tools to monitor data quality.
  • Power BI administration, report design, validate and upkeeping experience helps.
  • Knowledge of Design and Development of ETL processes (to pull, transform and integrate data).
  • Candidates with Data Democratization Initiatives, Business Analysis, and Visualization Tools experiences will be most preferred. Basic SQL proficiency required.
  • High level programming languages knowledge is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities or support or projects simultaneously.
  • Prior experience working with D&A services team using applications from functions like finance/real estate ops, marketing, and sales/HRIS/Legal/IT operations from conception to finish line is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience segmenting and managing D&A from a parent company via a divestiture a plus.
  • Seeks to optimize performance by finding efficiencies through automating processes and building tools to simplify daily tasks.
  • Experience working with business intelligence products as well as building out data warehouses eventually is a plus.
  • Considerable writing proficiency and visual design skills, oral presentation skills, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements:
 

This is primarily a sedentary office position which requires the IT Business Analyst – Data and Analytics to have the ability to operate computer equipment, speak, hear, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and move and carry up to 25 lbs. Finger dexterity is necessary.
