Under the general direction of the Director is responsible for coordinating the activities, planning and organizing individual and group activities to meet the cultural, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of Tiny Home residents. Provides transportation services for residents to and from appointments, events, etc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and implements activities for residents that help them learn to make better choices and engage in behaviors that positively contribute to their right to self-determination.
- Develops activities calendar monthly and activity flyers for Village. Contacts other departments or outside agencies to schedule activities for residents. Plans and runs activities within village.
- Encourages participation in activities within village and community.
- Coordinates meeting location, equipment, food, etc. for scheduled activities.
- Helps set up and take down tables, chairs and equipment etc. for programs. Assists with clean-up after events.
- Orders and maintains activity program supplies according to budget. Performs shopping for supplies.
- Helps to maintain an organized, sanitary program environment, and ensure that daily supplies for programs and activities are maintained and organized.
- Provides safe and timely transportation for clients to appointments, activities, events, etc.
- Provides back-up to other positions within the department.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
There are no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or equivalent GED. Two
years of related experience working with clients. Previous experience
working in Native American community preferred. Or satisfactory
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedural manuals and grant applications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients, employees, or organization.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's and to calculate percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Other Skills and Abilities
Must have a minimum of two years documented recovery from substance or chemical dependency issues; or no prior history/diagnosis of chemical misuse, abuse or dependency. Must remain substance abuse free.
Employee is subject to a drug screen before hire and randomly throughout employment or for reasonable suspicion during employment.
Must demonstrate a sensitive to and knowledge of Indian customs, traditions and culture.
Must maintain appropriate and ethical boundaries with program patrons.
Must demonstrate an ability to use effective teaching and modeling methods while interacting with program patrons.
Must demonstrate an ability to remain calm while working in crisis situations.
Must demonstrate and maintain a commitment to respecting the confidential nature of the program. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and other relevant Puyallup Tribal policies. Effectively incorporates confidentiality into daily work habits.
Must be willing to attend training and classes as recommended and directed by Supervisor.
Required to maintain a predictable and reliable schedule during required work shift. May be required to cover other shifts as required by supervisor.
Must have flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to work hours as assigned by Director.
Must submit and be able to pass a criminal background check prior to employment and periodically after employment.

insurable, and must sign a release of information to obtain a Washington
State Driving Abstract. Driver’s
License must not contain any restrictions that would otherwise prevent a
Tribal employee from complying with the Tribe’s Vehicle Use Policy.
Must have or obtain a Food Handler’s Card within one month of hire.
Must be able to drive a 15 passenger vehicle.
Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment; certification must be maintained during employment.
