Group Sales Assistant


Reports to: Director of Marketing






This position is geared towards individuals who enjoy working independently, planning and facilitating all group and event bookings for Story Land and Living Shores. This role covers all stages of the group sale from campaigns, tour operations, and contracts, to payments and weekly group sales reports.


Roles & Responsibilities


·         Coordinate and execute all group and event bookings at Living Shores Aquarium and Story Land.

·         Create all email distributions and develop yearly business to business email calendars.

·         Manage all communication between interested groups, contract execution and any other areas required for successful execution of group business.

·         Work closely with Corporate Center of Excellence and Northeast Hub to develop and implement group sales initiatives.

·         Coordinate and facilitate successful lodging partnership program and find innovative ways to grow and enhance the program along with online initiatives.

·         Coordinate and facilitate corporate partnerships as well as build new relationships and garner business to our corporate program.

·         Assist Marketing department with day of events, customer service and related marketing tasks where needed.




·         Communication – Developing interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel

  • Problem Solving/Analysis:  Define problems, research and collect data, draw valid conclusions and execute remedial strategies in a timely manner
  • Project Management:  Understand and manage projects from concept to completion. Develop and achieve strategic objectives, plans and time schedules; organize and manage competing priorities, while maintaining a steadfast commitment to detail
  • Executive Presence – Represent the Company well internally and externally; convey a professional and positive image of the organization and business affiliates
  • Flexibility – Handle multiple priorities simultaneously; maintain a flexible work schedule to meet changing demands for multiple concurrent projects
  • Initiative and Adaptability – Take initiative and execute plans to accomplish strategic objectives in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Computer Proficiency – MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint) Salesforce and design experience a plus.






Internal: Interact with Operations, F&B, Retail often to ensure groups and events are executed professionally and smoothly. Interact with Admissions and Guest Services often to ensure product, service and communication stays accurate.


External:  Interact with a wide variety of individuals from all industries (education, business, tour operator) to customize and execute desired group outings at both Living Shores Aquarium and Story Land.
