Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to ensure the storage, distribution, and organization of parts and materials for the Engineering department. This individual will assist with the procurement of parts, monitoring inventory levels, and performing audits of the storeroom. The Storeroom Clerk will report to the Automation Engineer Supervisor or his/her designee.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receiving, storing, and issuing of inventory items to ensure new items are added to the database and old items are disposed of
  • Making sure that all products meet company standards for quality and safety, and maintaining records of these inspections
  • Maintaining inventory records by entering new items into a database and removing obsolete items from inventory
  • Performing physical inventory counts to ensure that the storeroom is stocked with enough items to meet current demand
  • Responsible for ordering new items as needed from suppliers and vendors to replenish stock
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports regarding inventory levels and other data as requested by management
  • Storing and organizing materials in warehouses, supply rooms, storage facilities, or other physical locations where materials are kept
  • Communicating any issues regarding inventory to managers or other appropriate staff members
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Previous experience with inventory management software is preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively to individuals at various levels and in different departments
