We’re seeking an experienced process engineer to lead, design, develop and implement innovative thermal fluid systems as part of our Houston Energy sector scale-up team.

  • Responsible for leading development of a generalizable digital twin capability for projecting efficiency gains from small to large-scale thermal fluid systems.
  • Interface with business units and program leaders to develop technical tasking and milestones.
  • Apply the principles of fluid dynamics and heat transfer to concept development. Employ process simulation and thermodynamics software as required.
  • Specify, design, install, and commission new equipment/technology required to scale-up processes from small laboratory scale to commercial application. Evaluate and design unit/equipment modifications.
  • Conduct process development experiments at laboratory and pilot plant scale. Troubleshoot units and equipment.
  • Monitor and optimize the efficiency, output, and safety of lab and pilot plant operations.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from lab, pilot plant, and commercial operations. Apply models as appropriate.
  • Document results, prepare reports, and present work product.
  • Evaluate and manage research program costs and schedule.
  • Leverage and work cooperatively with others to efficiently achieve general interest team solutions.
  • Participate in cross-discipline scale-up and commercial operation teams to ensure smooth technology handoff.
  • Originate novel patentable concepts, leading to the development of intellectual property assets.  

  The ideal candidate should have:  

  • In-depth understanding of fluid mechanics and heat transfer in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, nuclear engineering or similar field
  • Graduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or Science with working familiarity in computational simulation for fluid dynamics and heat transfer
  • Should have working knowledge of computer aided-design equipment and computerized processes
  • Experience with operations in process industry / Power plants / Refineries / Manufacturing Plants
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-phase flow and heat transfer
  • Demonstrated experience writing innovative and competitive proposals to obtain funding
