About The Position:

Oak Hill is seeking an Assistive Technology Specialist to provide information and services regarding assistive technology. This position will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary, assistive technology team to provide services that are aligned with best practice.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of the Arts or Bachelor of Science degree; or 4 years of related experience
  • Must possess or acquire RESNA ATP Certification, or Assistive Technology Certification from a reputable program, of own accord and own expense within the first six months of employment
  • Ability to interact well with varying ages and cultures; superior technical writing, time management, and verbal communication; exceptional organizational skills application in a deadline driven environment. Must be willing to perform frequent job-related travel

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct AT services to identify technology supports that appropriately align with an individual’s unique abilities, preferences, environmental contexts, and barriers. Services also facilitate successful AT implementation within areas of education, employment, home, and community settings. Written reports that align with the direct services are required as applicable.
  • Collaborate with NEAT and Oak Hill staff along with related professionals to provide comprehensive AT solutions and services.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging AT presentations and workshops that align with evidenced based practices for educational, vocational, and consumer groups at the local and national levels.
  • Stay current for applications in their area of practice to support the AT decision-making process.
  • Exhibit innovation for adapting and modifying assistive technology tools and programs.
  • Reviews, utilizes, manages, and troubleshoots technology solutions across the continuum of AT.
  • Has awareness around and is prepared to utilize smart home, remote support, and augmentative, alternative communication (AAC) technologies.
