St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for a per diem Therapy Technician for Rehabilitation Services at the St. Ann’s Home located on our Irondequoit campus. The primary purpose of your job is to assist in the organization and implementation of Rehab Services in accordance with federal, state and regulatory agency guidelines to assure that the highest degree of resident care can be provided.

Job Description:
- Transport residents as needed.
- Transport supplies and messages as needed.
- Assist in Therapy gym with pt preparation for therapy and other activity as directed by a Therapist.
- Assist with clerical requests as needed as supports Rehab Administrative Assistant as requested.
- Assist and collaborate with other departments in relation to therapy needs.
- Under the direction of licensed therapists: ambulate residents who are on a maintenance program, assist with maintenance range of motion exercises and exercises to maintain strength and endurance in clients without related pathology, apply superficial hot and cold applications.
- Aid with resident transfers and positioning.
- Give motivation, orientation, and encouragement to residents and patients.
- Report changes in patient/resident’s physical, mental or psychosocial status to therapist and nurse
- Maintain the confidentiality of resident/patient and departmental operation records.
- Maintain an excellent working relationship with internal and external Customers. Communicate actual or potential problems to the Therapy Coordinator or the Director of Rehabilitation Services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation Services and the PT/OT/Speech Therapists.
- Maintains the Rehab Department in good order. Report problems with environment and equipment to supervisors promptly.
- Clean and sterilize equipment on a routine basis (adaptive and positioning equipment, hydrocollator, paraffin bath, walkers, cushions, etc.).
- Maintain linen levels in the department.
- Maintain walkers, canes and crutches in good order.
- Maintain equipment in storage area.
- Help in the inspection of all wheelchairs that are used for transporting patents. Report those in need of repair to a Therapy Coordinator.
- Reliable, dependable and punctual in use of work time.
- Demonstrates initiative and cooperation in professional working relationships.
- Complies with applicable organizational policies and procedures i.e.: mandatory education, health requirement, and HR requirements.
- Demonstrates a commitment of quality through participation on improvement teams and by identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Works to improve performance relative to the system’s organizational goals.
- Consistently delivers high quality service being responsive to customer needs.
Candidate Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Requires knowledge of Microsoft office programs Outlook/Excel/Word.
