Nurse Job Description

Represent MMC in a courteous and professional manner.

Greet guest and incoming calls in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.

Set up exam rooms: assist doctor/provider in office exams and procedures.

Assist patients to rooms, perform proper intake, begin office note and enter requested lab & xray orders in the EMR.

Maintain diagnostic imaging log.

Provide patients with proper education.

Clean exam rooms after use and clean, pack & sterilization of instruments.

Be flexible when asked to stay past your scheduled work time (as needed) to accommodate the needs of patients.

Complete all Healthstream assignments on time.

Plan, prioritize and organize work load to maintain efficient patient workflow within the department.

Communicates with patients about lab results, questions, medications, symptoms etc.

Notifies patients of test results as directed by the doctor/provider and chart in EMR.

Process prescription refill request as directed by doctor/provider.

Ability to draw blood for BRCA testing.

Chart all communications with patients, call pharmacy with prescriptions as directed by doctor/provider.

Send labwork, radiology reports and other documents to the scanning department to be placed in the patients chart.

Complete prior authorizations for medications, MRI’s, CT’s, etc.

Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.

Meet or exceed patient , doctor and staff expectations through a cooperative, teamwork approach.

Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all HIPAA & OSHA guidelines.

Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all MMC policies and procedures.

Be able to perform other duties as required or assigned.
