We are looking for a Chief Engineer to take a leadership role at the hotel for all associates. The Chief Engineer is a key player within the hotel and if your technical and communicational skills are on the same level, you should join our management team!

The Chief Engineer at the Hilton Christiana should be detailed oriented and should strive to meet and exceed the department and hotel goals and standards by keeping in mind the importance of investing in his own and his associates’ growth and development.
  

What is expected from a Chief Engineer:

Check and perform major repairs to refrigeration, heating, ventilation and air conditioning plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
Communicate with hotel department heads to become aware of maintenance needs and ensures timely response to requests, e.g., Housekeeping Department for laundry/housekeeping equipment and room repairs, Food and Beverage Department for kitchen equipment, Guest Services Department for various guest concerns.
Work with corporate product managers, engineers and outside architects to discuss renovations and new construction; contact contractors for bids and meet with construction supervisors to discuss phases of construction to ensure timely completion within budget and provide future maintenance.
Ensure the execution of the hotel’s preventive maintenance program.
Maintain standards of product quality for all areas of the hotel as outlined in the HIW standards manual and reports deficiencies to the General Manager.
Hire, train, and provide career development for all maintenance personnel; conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees; may include dealings with trade unions.
Serve as member of Executive Committee/Management Team, and works with other management personnel to establish hotel service standards to achieve maximum profitability and efficiency.
